Our Story

For decades, schools have struggled with operating a safe, effective system for after school dismissal. The chaotic pickup process frustrates parents, school administrators, teachers, and neighborhood residents with long lines and heavy traffic that come with not having a student pickup solution. After 25+ years as a school administrator responsible for managing this hectic time of day, Stephen Bloodworth thought there has to be a better way to get students home quickly and safely.

Mr. Bloodworth set out on a mission to find a solution and quickly became frustrated with the options available. Many of the solutions were expensive, required dated and physical hardware, and had incomplete or glitchy technologies. He knew he could create a better, modern solution from a school administrator’s perspective. The technology company, FetchKids, was born. After a couple of years of development and implementation, FetchKids is now a world-class application where parents and schools easily communicate with the click of a button.

Easy to onboard schools and parents, the FetchKids system coordinates after school pickups using the best of today’s technology at a reasonable price. Parents download an app to communicate arrival times or last-minute changes with after school staff. Staff receive communications and verify authorized pickups on tablets or mobile phones. Schools manage the entire system by signing into an easy to use dashboard using any web browser.

The Western Australian International School in Vietnam tested FetchKids with their summer program students from  July 13  – 18, 2019 in preparation for their full roll-out on August 5, 2019 for 2,000 students on 5 campuses.   

Before launching internationally, FetchKids was rigorously tested with several schools in Los Angeles, beginning in 2016. The FetchKids team spent nearly three years working with parents and school administrators at several LA-based schools to assure that the app included all the features that mattered the most to school staff and parents.
